How it works:

It is thought that the diosgenin in quality wild yam root topical preparations has the ability to bind to the same cell sites as progesterone, acting as a boost to natural progesterone levels.
In the 1940’s the scientific community discovered that diosgenin, the active constituent in the roots of Mexican wild yam (Dioscorea villosa), could be used to synthetically produce oestrogen and progesterone. Professor Russel Marker showed progesterone and oestrogen could inexpensively be synthesized from diosgenin, a plant compound structurally similar to certain hormones found in the body and the active constituent in wild yam root. It is believed this synthesis is also accomplished in the body when diosgenin is applied topically for absorption into the blood.

Dosage
