CLINICALLY PROVEN AS EFFECTIVE AS HOSPITAL ELECTRIC PUMPS*
The Philips AVENT Manual Breast Pump was the first ever designed to stimulate milk flow in a way that closely mimics the suckling action of a baby. There is simply no gentler, faster or more natural way to express milk. The Avent manual breast pump has not only been clinically proven to be as effective as a hospital-grade electric pump - it was rated significantly more comfortable and pleasant to use.
The Let-Down Massage Cushion
The secret behind Philips AVENT Breast Pumps is the patented Let-Down Massage Cushion. This soft silicone cushion has five oval 'petals' that gently massage the area around the nipple as you pump - just like your baby does when nursing - stimulating the let-down reflex. By lightly pressing the handle, you can also adjust the suction power to the perfect level.

Express More Quickly
The award-winning ISIS Manual Breast Pump allows you to express your milk directly into Philips AVENT Feeding Bottles or VIA pre-sterilised Cups for storage in the fridge or freezer. That way, your baby can still enjoy the benefits even if you are not there to give the feed yourself.
The ISIS Manual Breast Pump works quickly, gently and quietly without the need for motors or batteries. The secret is the combination of the unique patented petal massage cushion and silicone diaphragm which work together to imitate the way your baby breastfeeds.
The result is more milk, faster and more naturally than with any other pump. In recent clinical trials, it was proved as effective as hospital electric and battery pumps and was much preferred by mothers overall. It was also preferred in terms of ease of use, amount of suction and comfort.
The ISIS Manual Breast Pump is a breakthrough in breast pump design. Its silicone diaphragm provides 100% reliable vacuum, whilst the Let-down Massage Cushion naturally imitates your baby’s suckling action to provide fast milk flow – silently, comfortably and gently.
The pump is easy to assemble, discreet to use and all parts are dishwasher safe.
As the pump is so silent and discreet you can take it with you anywhere, allowing you to express milk at your own convenience and maintain your milk supply.
Since the AVENT Bottle and Airflex Teat are specially designed to mimic breastfeeding, your baby will switch easily between breast and bottle. This allows mothers to continue providing breast milk to baby even when they return to work.

An independent clinical study conducted by leading British paediatricians and infant nutrition specialists compared the performance of the Philips AVENT Manual Breast Pump and a hospital-grade electric pump. Published by Pediatrics (the official journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics) in June 2001, the randomised trial proved that mothers using Philips AVENT Manual Breast Pump expressed more milk than those using a hospital electric breast pump. On a Personal Note:
This pump is my personal favourite, having served me well for over a year of daily expressing for my little boy whilst he was being cared for by his Dad at home when I was away during the day. Knowing that I would be doing a great deal of expressing, I was convinced into purchasing a very expensive double electric breast pump by a well meaning sales rep. However I found the loud noises, hard textures and tight grip a less than enjoyable experience - not to mention the sore tortured nipples! After a month on the electric a friend lent me her manual avent isis to try, I was immediately in luv! I had 200ml of milk off one breast in the time it took the electric to get half this amount and the feeling of the soft massaging cushion was very close to that of my baby that it felt entirely natural. I also liked the way in which I could control the pressure (suction) and found that my milk just flowed out continually with only the slightest of a depression on the handle. Needless to say I promptly purchased my own and relegated the electric to the back of the cupboard. Plus I now didn't need to fret about whether my work colleagues were hearing the wirr wirr wirr coming out of my office.
